At the heart of Lofoten Vesteraelen there lies the municipality of Sortland having its sharp peak mountains.
The climate of Lofoten Vesteraalen is mild. Neither summers are too hot nor are the winters too cold. This is due to the fact that Lofoten Vesteraelen is near to Gulf Stream whose warmth maintains a balance in the weather. The driest month observed is July whereas normally the temperature doesn’t exceed 14 degrees. December and starting of January is the time when northern lights – a fascinating natural gift, are clear and are more visible.
Lofoten Vesteraalen is naturally blessed and to enjoy that natural beauty humans have created many facilities for various outdoor activities.
